Take A Technique ....... Stencilling

Good morning!

Happy Friday to you ...... and welcome to a brand new Craft Stamper Take It Make It Challenge

A big Thank You to everyone that took part in last months challenge, and the Blog Hop ...... we had so much fun. I think I can safely say that the Design Team had a fab time looking through all 181 stunning entries.  Well done to all of you for entering and Congratulations to the winners.

This month it's the turn of ........ Take a Technique and the challenge is, to use .........  Stenciling!  You don't need to use a specific Stenciling technique ...... just make sure you've used a stencil somehow, somewhere on your projects ........  and don't forget to include some stamping on there too!
If you haven't got any stencils in your craft stash, don't worry, why not make your own.  Die cut or punch shapes from card or acetate and use that as a stencil to create your design.

For my inspiration piece I used a pretty metal stencil from Sweet Poppy ...... called Wildflowers

I inked a piece of white card using shades of blue Distress ink ....... Stormy Sky/Faded Jeans and a little touch of Chipped Sapphire.  I kept most of the ink around the edges, leaving the centre of the card virtually white.

I spritzed over the ink with some clean water, let it sit for a couple of seconds then mopped up the excess with kitchen roll, to give that speckled look to the background

Using the stencil, and Shaded Lilac and Dusty Concord Distress inks, I added in the floral design across the inked card.

Once the ink was dry, I placed the stencil over the top of the flowers and this time I used Glossy White Stencil Dimensions paste (from Sweet Poppy) through the stencil.
I let this dry then, with the stencil in place again, I brushed lightly over the top using IndigoBlu's Snow White Metallic Paint

To finish off I stamped the words (STAMPlorations) and added a couple of tiny dragonflies, which I think are from a Hero Arts set of stamps.

And I carried the design through to the inside of the card too.

This time, just keeping with the colours of Distress inks ......

Stencils, or masks, whether they're metal or the flexible plastic ones, are a useful thing to have in your craft stash.  You can use them with inks, paints, texture pastes or even just draw around them to create interesting backgrounds and designs or add texture to your projects.

Pop over to the Craft Stamper Blog for more fabulous inspiration and ideas from the rest of the DT, then have some fun and get your entries in ...... Good luck!

As always there's a fabulous prize for the Challenge Winner.  This month our sponsor is ....... Paperbabe Stamps  and the prize is 2 stamp plates of the winners choice!

And don't forget there's a second prize for the Design Winner, chosen by the DT.  They will get their work in the Craft Stamper Magazine, be invited to do a Guest Spot on a future Challenge and have a winners profile on the Blog!!
You've got until midnight on February 25th to get your entries in so come on and get stenciling!!

Thanks for popping by today ...... enjoy the rest of your day and have a fabulous weekend.
Ours is getting off to a good start ......we've got a house-warming party to go to this evening, which reminds me I still haven't wrapped the present .... oops!

Cheerio until next time

Beautiful card. The colors of the card is so fragile, as if woven with fog. Wonderful.
