Sharing the Season .......

Happy 4th of December .......

It's Friday, it's the first one of the month, and it's the start of the latest Craft Stamper challenge ..... the last one of 2015!!
Thanks to everyone that's taken the time to join in with the monthly challenges ..... so glad you enjoy them and ...... I think I can speak for the rest of the DT too ....... it's great to see so many fabulous entries each month.  We hope to see you all in 2016.

Sharing the Season

I've decided on a festive theme and created a little winter scene using the Tim Holtz Sizzix dies ...... Prancing Deer and Sleigh Ride

This was so much fun to do .......
I started with two small canvases, joined together for the base, and then covered it using a coarse texture paste.  While the paste was wet I sprinkled on some fine crystal glitter ...... you can see I wasn't too careful to get the paste smooth, I wanted lots of texture on the ground

I cut the reindeer and sleigh from chipboard ....... 3 layers for each of the reindeer to give them extra dimension, and two for each side of the sleigh ..... these were then joined together and painted

The antlers were given the glitter treatment ...... a touch of Christmas sparkle!

For the sleigh I glued the layers together, painted them, then I made a small box base to join the two sides together, this also meant that I could actually fill up the sleigh.  I chose to use some winter foliage in mine, but you could put small glass baubles in there, or even chocolates or sweets and give this as a little gift

I sprayed some of the Tim Holtz spruce trees with the Picket Fence Distress Spray Stain and left them to dry.  They were then given a light coating with a spray adhesive and dipped into some fine crystal glitter .... so sparkly!!!

I originally had green, snow covered trees ..... done in exactly the same way except using a touch of texture paste for the snow but I changed my mind and went with the white.
Who says trees have to be green anyway ..... you could spray them whatever colour you like!!

Once everything was dry I put my little scene together using a bit more texture paste and my hot glue gun.

A few more pine cones  and a Christmas greeting finish it all off nicely ....... something to add to the Christmas decorations

I'm off out bauble shopping.   I finally decorated the tree last night and ....... there's gaps!!!  Even with the new ones on, there's still spaces that need a little something.

And ......... I couldn't get the lights right but it'll have to do!  I'd had enough at 1.30am!!
