Favourite flower .....

Happy Wednesday ........

Guess what ...... it's stopped raining (yeah!!)  The sun is out, and it's been a glorious day here .  We must be having some of that heatwave that's going on at the moment, across in the UK.  How long it'll last ..... who knows ........ so lets enjoy it while we can.

I've been busy in the old craft room again .... I'm still on a mission to get things tidy.  Not only have I been sorting through stamps today ........ what a job that was! .......  I've been moving furniture around .... again!!
You know what it's like, I woke up in the early hours and wondered ..... if I moved a set of drawers here and moved my ink shelves there .... would it still all fit. Don't worry I didn't actually get up at 4am to do it. But, after a morning of manouvers, the answer is ...... YES!!! ..... it does all fit. And I've got more space ....... one of my better ideas I think.

I also made time to play along with this weeks Less is More challenge.  It's my favourite .... One Layer Week .... and speaking of favourites, the theme is a nice easy one this week  .....

YOUR FAVOURITE FLOWER

Hmmmm .... favourite flower .... that's tricky one.   There's so many to chose from depending on the time of year.  In the spring I love seeing the snowdrops, and of course the happy daffs.  I love tulips. the smell of roses, the colours of beautiful lilies and gerberas.  Peonies I like .... fields full of poppies I could go on.  In the end I've decided to use one of FAVOURITE flower STAMPS, one that doesn't get used that often ........ (I found it again when I was 'tidying up')

I suppose it could be a gerbera .... it looks a little bit daisy like.  Funnily enough it's called Watercolour Daisy and it's by Hampton Art.  I think it's still available but don't hold me to that .... I've had mine forever!!

Using a piece of acetate I smooshed some Scattered Straw Distress ink onto the centre(ish) of a pieced of white card

I then stamped the flower over the top using black Versafine

Using my Distress inks again and a little water ....... Picked Raspberry and Mowed Lawn ..... I added colour to the flower

and a dot of white enamel accents to the centre ......not sure what happened there but it definitely looks like something's squashed it. I only noticed it once I'd taken the picture .... oops!

A happy sentiment finishes it all off

Well that's it from me today .... time to get the dinner out, hubby's on his way home.  Yes, I've even managed to cook!

Thanks for popping by ... enjoy the rest of your day.

Cheerio until next time

I absolutely love the doodle style of this stamp - totally fab! You've achieved a lovely loose watercolour look and it's very effective. Gorgeous card. Thanks for playing with us at Less is More :)

This sketchy daisy stamp is fab, Linda, and I love the way you have watercoloured it! The smooshed background works perfectly and still keeps everything CAS. Great to see you at Less is More :)
