Happy Little Stampers Mixed Media Challenge ......

Happy Tuesday folks ......

More challenge fun for you this evening .... this time with the Happy Little Stampers Mixed Media challenge.
This month the theme is all about DISTRESS ......

I LOVE the Distress look ...... whether it be grunge or shabby chic, and you all know how much I love my Distress inks .... what would I do without them!   The paints, stains, sprays and the new crayons are not bad either!

Anyhow .... what have I got for you tonight?  Well ..... I've made a tag .....

A simple manila tag .... Distress inks applied, and blended all over (Scattered Straw, Spiced Marmalade, Mowed Lawn ... with just a touch of Aged Manogany around the edges) and then I flicked water over the surface, let it sit for a while before mopping up the excess with a paper towel.

I love using this technique .... it adds real interest to the background.

I then took my sentiment stamp and inked it using the Spiced Marmalade Distress and stamped it randomly over the tag ..... you can just about see it on the background, a bit like a ghost image I suppose. I then used Versamark and white embossing powder to make the actual sentiment stand out.

Next I used my favourite brick wall stencil and the brand new Distress Grit Paste to add a little bit of texture to the tag .....

I inked some manila cardstock using the Distress colours again and stamped the lovely large bloom, and a couple of leaves from the HLS Doodled Flowers stamp set and embossed with a fine detail white powder
After fussy cutting I attached the pieces to the front of the tag to create my beautiful bloom

The stem was simply a snippet of card, coloured with Distress ink, and I added a pretty gold enamel dot to the centre

To finish off I added some grass to the bottom of the tag, using a stencil and more Distress Ink, and attached a cute little ladybug on there too
The tag was topped off with a shabby little bow, made with some string from my stash and a piece white vintage seam binding, coloured using the same distress inks as I used on the tag .....

Now it's your turn.  If you need some more inspiration before you start, pop over the the HLS Blog and see what the rest of the Design Team have been up to.
We also have a Guest Designer with us this month .... the lovely Autumn from SewPaperPaint is joining us giving you more fabulous inspiration so do pop by and say Hi!

As always the challenge is sponsored by the HLS store ......

And the winner will receive a $15 discount for the store

Thanks for popping by ...... enjoy the rest of your day and Happy Stamping!
I'm off to the old craft room .... busy week this week.  It's workshop time again at the weekend and I still need to prep!

Cheerio until next time ....
