Happy Sunday .......
I hope you're enjoying your weekend.
It's going to be a nice quiet day today, doing absolutely nothing! The sun is shining, we have no plans, don't need to be anywhere, nothing needs doing ........ and I'm still in my PJs! I do like a lazy Sunday.
It was a busy one yesterday though. My regular group of crafty ladies were gathered around the worktable having all sorts of fun with Mica Powders. In fact they were so busy we had a bit of a late finish .... it was either that or there was too much chatting going on during the tea and biscuit break! Don't worry ..... I'll share what we got up to after the weekend.
Today's post is all about Christmas cards .... HO! HO! HO! (only 15 weeks to go) .... sorry!
Where was I? .... oh yes ......Merry Monday are back after their summer break (whoo hoo!!) and I thought it was high time I joined in with the festive fun. Lets face it ..... I need to make a start on my cards at some point, otherwise it'll be off to the shops to buy some ..... what will people think!
This weeks challenge is ...... to use Gold, Black and White only. I can do that!
I actually think this is a very nice combination .... very elegant. Even snowflakes look good .... well I think they do! Who says they always have to be white .....
In fact I love how this turned out so much, that I'm going to use it as one of my Christmas designs.
Nice and easy to do but looks fab! And it's only the one layer ..... so good for posting too.
I simply stamped my snowflakes using Black Versafine ink .... first and second generation stamping (Tim Holtz Mini Weathered Winter stamps and the tiny flakes are from an old Inkadinkadoo set)
I added in the gold ones .... stamped with Versamark ink and embossed with a Gold powder ....... very pretty
A few dots of fine gold glitter here and there adds a touch more sparkle, and I finished off with a festive greeting from the Happy Little Stampers Mixed Christmas Sentiments
Oh .... it's snowing on the inside of the card too .....
If you love the HLS designs .... watch this space .... new stamp releases coming soon (Ooops! Me and my big mouth ..... hope that wasn't supposed to be a secret!)
On that note ...... I think it's time for another coffee and a nice warm croissant.
Thanks for popping by .... enjoy the rest of your day and make the most of what's left of the weekend.
I may just pop into the craft room at some point today ....... it would be a shame not to.
Cheerio until next time
