Let it Snow ......

I don't mean that literally of course ..... not yet anyway!  I still have stuff to do.

Happy Friday to you ......

Have you had a good week ....... looking forward to the weekend? It's been one long weekend for me I think .... hubby has been off work all week and we've had a great time!  It's been like being on holiday ..... eaten too much, drank too much and spent far too much ....... It's Christmas!

It's also time for a quick reminder of this months Craft Stamper Take It Make It Challenge.  We have a Theme for December ........
Snow & Ice
Create seasonal projects using lots of white products.  Think gesso, embossing pastes, paints. Embossing powders, mica sprays and lots of glitter.

I've got a last minute Christmas card idea for you ........ yes I'm still making Christmas cards.  I made a start on writing mine this week and I've nowhere near enough.  Guess what I'll be doing on Sunday!!!

Anyhow ......

Using one or two of my favourite techniques ...... emboss resist along with a bit of water splattering onto Distress Inks.  There's also a little bit of texture paste on there too.

I took a piece of white cardstock and randomly stamped some snowflakes on there using a Versamark ink, and heat embossed them with a white powder

I then added colour to the card using various shades of blue Distress Inks ...... Stormy Sky, Faded Jeans and a touch of Chipped Sapphire.
I flicked some clean water over the top and let it sit for a few seconds before mopping up the excess with a paper towel ........ love how this removes some of the colour to give this bleached, speckled look look.

I then polished over the top of the embossed snowflakes to remove any excess ink and the white embossing just comes to life ......
I also stamped a few more snowflakes onto the background, this time with a blue ink to fill in some of the open space.

I added the sentiment ......

And finished off with a die cut snowflake ........

Cut from plain white cardstock twice, layered the two together and then gave it a coat of texture paste.  I applied the paste with my finger because I wanted an uneven finish to it ......

and whist the paste was still wet I sprinkled over some crystal glitter to add that frosty sparkle.

This month the challenge this month is sponsored by ......  Craft Box

and as always there's a fab prize for the challenge winner.

Check out the Craft Stamper Blog for more details and also lots more Snow and Ice inspiration from the rest of the Design Team.

Happy Stamping!

I'm also entering this card into the 12 Days of Christmas Cards Challenge ......

There's lots of time before the closing date so why don't you join in the fun too!

Thanks for popping by .... enjoy the rest of your day and have a great weekend.

We're off out to see if we can finish the Christmas shopping then it's back to the old craft room for me to put the final touches on tomorrow's workshop.
It's the last one of the year and it's a BIG one so it's going to be a busy day.  We've got a full house, an earlier start and a Christmas party thrown in.  As you've probably guessed the project has a nice festive theme .......

Lots of inking and painting to do ...... along with a bit of 'flower arranging'

It's going to fun.

Cheerio until next time .......
