Happy Bird-day Chris .........

Happy Thursday .......

Is it really only Thursday ...... it's been a lonnnnng week!!  But, we're almost there ..... the weekend that is!!
I think our weekend officially starts this evening ...... hubby's got the day off tomorrow, and it's Chris's birthday today.  No doubt there will be much celebrating going on later ..... I do know he's off out this evening.  I think I'll sit this one out and leave it to the boys ...... we can do our family celebrations tomorrow evening.

I have made him a birthday card though ........

Cute or what!
I made it with this month's Twofer Card Challenge in mind ........ another one that I'm sneaking in just before the deadline.

Two different designs for
two different occasions,
using the same stamp, die or stencil

An ostrich is a bird ...... right?

This little guy has simply been stamped onto a piece of white card using a Black Versafine ink ..... just look at that face!
Not sure if you can see it but, I've just added a tiny bit of blue ink to his eyes .....

The sentiment is from a Penny Black set and I've stamped it in two halves ..... using stencil tape to cover the bits that I didn't need.  The first half on the front ......

and the second on the inside .....

I added a few splatters of gold and black ink to finish off.

Now for the Twofer ......
Using the same stamp .... which by the way is from Katzelkraft, if you were wondering ..... I decided on a Valentine's design.  Well, it'll be here before we know it!

This time, the cute little ostrich has been stamped repeatedly around the edges of a piece of white card

I stamped in the gaps using a sentiment from Tim Holtz's Crazy Talk and some sweet little hearts from MFT's Valentine Wishes
The hearts have been given a brush of sparkle ....

And I added a nice glittery one, along with my stamped greeting

OK, OK ..... I confess ...... the glittery heart was to hide a smudge that somehow appeared when I'd nearly finished the card ..... ooops!  You would never know would you!

So, that's it ...... my Twofer.
Birthday and Valentines

Thanks for popping by .... enjoy your day.
It's time to tidy the craft room today ..... it could take a while.  Think I'll have a coffee first!

Cheerio until next time .....

Go on ..... Smile .... it's Friday!

Happy Friday to you .......

The weekend is nearly here ...... and the sun is shining (for now!) but I think all that's about to change, just in time for the weekend.
We've got a lazy couple of days coming up (yeah!!), nothing to do, nothing planned, so we're just going to play it by ear and see what happens.

First though I've got a little reminder for this month's Craft Stamper Challenge .......

As always the theme is Anything Goes ........ as long as there's some actually rubber stamping on there.
You can enter up to three different projects, but they must each have their own blog post ...... and don't forget to link to the Craft Stamper Challenge in your post.
Full challenge details, rules, sponsors and prize details can be found on the Craft Stamper Blog. Along with some fabulous inspiration from the DT ...... grab a cuppa, and when you're finished here pop over and take a look.

Here's my inspiration piece for you today ...... hopefully it'll make you smile!

I just had to have this cute little Ostrich stamp from Katzelkraft ..... he definitely made me smile.  I'm saying 'he' but it could be a she too!

I stamped him in black versafine ink and then added a touch of colour using ZIG Real Brush Markers.
Just look at that face ........ how can you resist!

The 'smile' is from a set of Visible Image stamps called Capture the Moment ....... stamped in versamark and heat embossed in gold.

I finished off  with a few splatters of ink onto the background

Are you smiling?

Our challenge sponsor this month is  ...... Uniko

and there's a fab prize for the challenge winner ..... 3 gorgeous stamp sets (see below)

Go on ..... why not join in the fun!

Thanks for popping by .... enjoy the rest of your day, and have a lovely weekend.

I'm having a day off from the craft room today ..... I've earned it!!
I'm off out for coffee, a look around the shops and a spot of lunch somewhere ..... we're off up to Ramsey today.

Cheerio until next time ......

Celebrate ....... and a little reminder

Happy Friday!

It's the weekend .... whoo hoo!  I don't know about where you are but it's flippin' cold here! Luckily we haven't had any snow yet ..... but there's time!!  I think a day spent in the old craft room is the best plan!

It's also time to remind you about the current Craft Stamper Challenge ....... have you entered yet?
It's a Take a Stamp month and basically ..... Anything Goes, as long as there's rubber stamping on your project somewhere.

Our sponsor this month is the fabulous Dali Art

and there's a great prize for the challenge winner .....

Don't forget there's also our monthly Design Winner ........ chosen by the DT.
Check out all the challenge details and the prizes over on the Craft Stamper Blog .... and today you'll also find lots of fantastic inspiration from the rest of the Design Team.

January's a busy month for birthdays for me so I've been catching up on my card making .... we've already had one birthday this week!   Lauren's is at the weekend ..... so we'll be out celebrating no doubt ...... and then this is for another special someone who has a birthday next weekend ......

How cute are these guys ...... the new Dogs from Katzelkraft ..... I love them!!!  They're a right happy looking bunch!!

I've stamped all the elements for my design onto white card, coloured them using Distress Inks and then cut each one of them out.

The little guy with his balloons ..... all ready to party

I added a little shape to the balloons using an embossing tool to add dimension ......

This is obviously the birthday boy ..... looking pleased with his gift!

Before sticking all the pieces on I added some colour to my background card ....... I brushed over some Distress Inks mixed with water .......

and then added a few splatters here and there to add a bit more interest ......

The words are from the Crazy Talk stamp set from Tim Holtz ...... they go so well don't they

And I finished off by adding another little guy inside ....

Not sure we'll be having balloons this weekend ........ although Lauren has said she wants a birthday cake!!!!  Better get down to M&S I think ..... I'm not risking baking one myself!

Thanks for popping by .... enjoy the rest of your day and have a lovely weekend.
Stay warm ...... stay safe!

Cheerio until next time
