Another week over .........

Happy Good Friday!

Where did the rest of the week go!?
Oh well, we've got a nice long weekend to look forward to .... the sky is blue, and the sun is shining, lets hope we all get a nice Easter weekend.

I will have to spend some time in the old craft room over the next few days though ..... serves me right for gallivanting this week I suppose ...... out for dinner one evening, two days on craft workshops, an afternoon with the little man and of course I had to go and find the Easter Eggs ..... I've had a lovely week!

It's not all been out and about though .... I have ventured into the old craft room now and again.
Over at Less is More it's One Layer Card Week ........ and the theme is all about

Shadow Stamping

There are several ways of doing this technique ...... using embossing powder as a resist, re-stamping without re-inking, or simply stamping the same image again using a lighter shade of ink ...... this is how I created my 'shadow' image

I masked off the top section of a 7x5 cardblank and used Distress Inks to colour the background (Spun Sugar & Shaded Lilac).  With the mask still in place, I did my favourite trick with the water to remove some of the colour, then stamped the beautiful daisies silhouette (Daisy Fields by Inkylicious), first using the Shaded Lilac Distress Ink, followed by Imperial Purple Versafine, only this time I moved the stamp slightly to the right, and up a bit, to create the shadow.  Inkylicious stamps are clear ploymer so it's easy to see where you're placing them

Using a score board, I embossed some decorative lines underneath the stamped panel and added a sentiment from Tim Holtz's Simple Sayings stamp set ....... OLC no problem!!

I also got around to making something for myself this week ...... and it's actually useful too .....

This MDF piece has been in my stash FOR EVER!!!  Finally I got around to doing something with it this week.  Actually .... I was fed up of moving it to get at other stuff so as I had some time on my hands I got out the paints ..... PaperArtsy Fresco Finish in Irish Coffee and Nougat

and some pretty scrapbooking paper .......

And it's now sitting in my kitchen, where it should be ....

Poached or scrambled?  On a toasted muffin maybe, with smoked salmon ....... mmmmm, I think that's lunch sorted!

Enjoy the Easter break .......

Thanks for popping by.  Cheerio until next time.
