Twofer Card Challenge .......

Happy Thursday ......

We're heading nicely towards the weekend ..... and this time next week, hubby will be nearly home!

Today I'm playing along with this month's Twofer Card Challenge ..... two cards, for two occasions, made using the same stamp or die.
The theme for August is ...... Geometric

Hmmmm ....... took me a while, but I got there in the end (just in time too .... I think the challenge closes tomorrow)

I've used a Memory Box die ...... I think it's called Mod Squares Background ..... and yes it is on both cards.
First ..... the female version ......

This beautiful stamp from Unity is one of my current favourites.  Stamped and heat embossed in Rose Gold and then coloured using the new Spun Sugar Distress Oxide before being cut into using the Mod Squares die

I also cut the die again, three times, from white cardstock and then inlaid and layered the various squares back into the stamped image.
I varied the number of layers on each square so that they would be at different heights and add a little more interest and texture to the design

A simple stamped sentiment and a few ink splatters finish it off

Now one for the boys using the same die .....

This was so simple to do ....... I die cut the squares from a piece of black card cut to fit the front of my card blank.  I cut it again from another piece of black card and again from a couple of pieces of designer papers.

I layered up the various squares of card and papers and then inlaid them back into the main piece of card matching up the stripes on the papers ....

An embossed sentiment and few dots of Nuvo Crystal Drops and we're done!

Two cards, two occasions, same die!

I was out yesterday for a lovely afternoon tea.  I met up with some of our crafty group to celebrate Carol's BIG birthday ........ we couldn't let that one slip by now could we!

I can show you her birthday card now .......

Love this image from Stamping Bella ........ coloured with ZIG markers and fussy cut

The sentiment is from SU ....... and is a two parter.   This goes on the outside of the card ....

and I'm sorry, but silly me forgot to take a picture of the inside, which says ......

...... Like "WHY did I walk into this room?"
(it made me smile)
That could actually be me at the moment ..... can't remember anything unless I write it down!!
Happy Birthday Carol ..... remember hun, it's only a number!

I do remember though we arranged another crafty get together at mine at the weekend which should be fun .... looking forward to that. There's going to be birthday cake!

Thanks for popping by .... enjoy the rest of your day
The sun has just popped it's head out .... lets hope it dries up all the rain from the monsoon that we had about half an hour ago!  Typical Isle of Man weather,  all the seasons in one day.  There's supposed to be another practice session today for the Manx GP  ..... fingers crossed!

Cheerio until next time .....

On the fifth day of December .........

Five Christmas wreaths

Happy Thursday,

Brrrrr ..... it's cold outside!!!  I hope you're all staying toasty warm.  I don't know what the weather's been like where you are but we've had it all today.  Very strong winds, rain, hail, snow, a bit of sunshine too.  Not very nice at all.  Even some of the ferries have been cancelled the sea has been that bad.  Stay at home is what I say - spend the day crafting!

Well, you just knew it wouldn't last didn't you ..... me blogging everyday.  It was all going so well,  but then yesterday just flew by, and I was so busy,  out in the evening too, didn't get back until late ...... excuses, excuses!    All the magazine stuff is done though, just need to parcel it up and get it in the post now before the deadline.

I did blog yesterday, just not on here.  It was my day to post on the IndigoBlu DT Blog.  More Christmas designs I'm afraid ..... if you're still after festive inspiration why not pop over and take a look.

Speaking of Christmas cards ...... I've done 5 more today

CAS ones again, using the pretty Mistletoe Wreath from Sweet Poppy Stencils.  I've used the Glossy White Stencil paste, then sprinkled fine crystal glitter over the top while the paste was still wet.
I've added a festive red bow and finished with the word 'merry' - cut using a Memory Box die.

I really do need to figure out how to take pictures in artificial light, these are so sparkly in real life.

Well ..... it's Friday tomorrow, another week over.   I've a few jobs to do in the morning (if this weather's calmed down that is), then I've got a post to do on the Creative Studios DT blog and in the evening we're off out again.  There's a bit of a do going on over in St. John's, they're setting up a mid-winter Ice Rink down at Tynwald Mills but more about that tomorrow.

Thanks for popping by today.  Enjoy the rest of your Thursday, and stay warm.

Cheerio for now

Time for a break ...... and relax

Happy Wednesday everyone,

What a busy morning I've had. Not doing crafty things today though, unfortunately.  I've been catching up with a load of paperwork and the housework (boring!!!).  I feel so much better now it's done though, just the mountain of ironing to finish this afternoon.  I've even got the evening meal on (thank goodness for the slow cooker!).  So, I think it's definitely time for a quick cuppa, and some chit chat with my blog pals.

First of my Blog Challenge entries this week is Less is More.  I know it's only Wednesday, a little early for me,  but I actually made this card ....... yesterday! - makes a change from the rush job on a Friday.

It's a bit of a special week over at LIM, it's their Birthday.  They're 2!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! LESS IS MORE

As it's a new month, there's also a new sponsor ........ Pink Petticoat, and  there's also some amazing guests joining in with the challenge.   Pop over and take a look at all the fab inspiration from them, and also the regular DT.

This week we have a colour challenge...........

Kraft & Kreme

They want us to use ONLY Kraft and Cream on our creations, here's mine .......
The colours a bit washed out, but it's definitely Kraft and Cream (well, it's Ivory I suppose, I hope that counts!)

I used some Bazzill Kraft cardstock, cut it slightly smaller than my base card and rounded the bottom corners.  Stamped the new Penny Black sentiment ......  moment of joy (4303F) in brown ink towards the bottom of the card, then dry embossed a couple of lines - above and below. (Sorry, these don't show up that well - didn't do a very good job at photographing this did I!)
I used the Memory Box Prim Poppy die and cut it twice from some cream (ivory) cardstock.  The first one is attached to the card using wet glue, the second one I trimmed down then attached using a foam pad under the flower.
Three tiny pearls add the finishing touch.
Hope you like it.

I was also busy yesterday with my project for this week's post on the Indigo Blu DT Blog.  I can let you have a sneaky peek .......
To see this in full, you'll have to pop over there later.

Speaking of the Indigo Blu DT Blog, keep your eyes open over there, for news of something BIG happening soon.  I can't say any more than that, it's a secret! (Oooh, I'm such a tease!!)

Thanks for popping by today.  I've enjoyed my cuppa and a 'chat'.  Enjoy the rest of your day and I'll see you later in the week.

Cheerio for now

January Blues

Morning everyone,

I can't believe January is nearly over with, and, my blog is a year old!  Where did that time go?!  Happy Birthday Blog (it was actually a few days ago - but who's counting!)
This is post number 200 and I've enjoyed sharing every single one of them with you.  I still find it hard to believe that so many of you enjoy reading my little old blog.  I love reading all the comments you leave, and I really enjoy stalking following you guys too. Thank you so much for keeping me company on my crafty journey.

As usual I'm on the last minute with my entry for the current Penny Black Saturday Challenge.
This month's theme is ......
JANUARY BLUES!

Don't worry it's not about being all sad and miserable, it's just they want us to use mainly blue tones on our creations.
As always, rules apply ...... only Penny Black images can be used, large sentiments and Stickeroos included.

Here's mine ......
Tea for two ..... all in blue!
Well, it's definitely blue!  I must say, it's not a colour I tend to use a lot, not for the whole card anyway.  I do like how this turned out though.

The background paper is from Magnolia, and is called 'Something Blue'.  The band across the centre was done using the PB 'clique' stamp (3858E) and Stormy Sky Distress Ink.
The main image is PB 'Tea Cozy' (1680J), stamped and coloured using Copic pens.  It's then been cut out and layered using Nestabilities dies (what did we do before we had these!?)
The tiny little sentiment on the tag is an extra, I thought it went with the stamp.  It's from the Stampin Up! Tea Shoppe set.

To finish everything off I added a couple of  Memory Box die cut flourishes, some paper roses and a pretty organza bow.
The main sentiment on the large tag is also a PB stamp - ..... special treasures (3629E).

Well, only one more day to go before hubby is home - I have missed him!   I hope these strong winds die down a little before Friday though, otherwise he's going to have a bit of a BuMpY flight.

Off to put the kettle on now.  A nice cup of Earl Grey I think, before I head off to the old craft room.

Thanks for popping by again.  Enjoy the rest of your day.

Cheerio for now
