Hope you're enjoying the Bank Holiday weekend and that the weather's a bit nicer where you are. At least if the sun's not shining I stand a chance of actually getting started on this thing that arrived yesterday ......
That's right ...... we've got a treadmill ...... in the lounge!!
Neither of us is very good with the whole 'dieting' business, we enjoy good food and nice wine too much as you know. So we're giving the 'more excercise' route a try. Hubby's hired this beast for the next 6 months to see how we get on with it, so ...... I've got a little over 8 weeks to do some serious calorie burning (that's the Vegas trip) and get into better shape for the summer ......... hmmmmm I'll keep you posted!
I don't suppose I'll be eating many of these in the next few weeks ........ gingerbread men (or women) that is!
But as you can see, I have to use one for this weeks Merry Monday Christmas Card Challenge
I was beginning to think I was going to have to miss this week (oh no!) ...... I haven't got a single gingerbread man stamp/sticker/charm/die ...... not a thing!! And my drawing is rubbish so that option was out! But ...... my crafty buddy Jill, came to the rescue and found this little chap for me .....
How cute is he!
A nice CAS design again.
I started by stamping the sentiment, using a Red Archival ink, towards the bottom of a piece of white cardstock. I added a strip of festive coloured striped paper, which has been scalloped along one edge, underneath, and then did some paper piercing around the edge to add a bit more interest.
I attached some red satin ribbon across the decorative paper and added a pretty matching bow.
The cute little gingerbread guy was stamped onto a seperate piece of card, and coloured using Copic Markers
I stamped the holly leaves again, coloured them and cut them out and decoupaged them on, to add a bit of dimension
Glossy accents over the holly berries and his buttons adds the final touch. He was then attached to the front of the card using foam pads.
I finished the card with a touch of the decorative paper on the inside too .....
I'm so glad I didn't have to miss a challenge ....... thanks Jill!
Thank you for popping by today .... have a lovely Sunday. I'm off to dig out the old running shoes and some trackie bottoms ..... the lycra can wait a few more weeks I think!
Cheerio until next time
Linda

Cute card Linda, I really like the scalloped edge and the paper inside and out of the card. FYI, my grandpa and a friend from work used to call my Lindy Lou even though I'm really Linda Rae.
Great card, love that sentiment stamp and the matching insides. Good luck on your calorie burning mission! I wish cardmaking burned more calories, wouldn't that rock?! So glad you joined us at Merry Monday!
The gingerbread man is a cutie for sure and your card is lovely, as ever! Good luck with the treadmill, I guess if it is in the lounge you won't be able to avoid it! Hugs, Anne xx
