Follow your ..... potato????

Morning folks ..... Happy Friday!

It's time for a little reminder to let you know that the current Craft Stamper Take It, Make It Challenge is up and running.

This month it's all about potatoes ..... or rather stamping using the good old spud!

As always, there's a fab prize for the challenge winner.  This month we're sponsored by Calico Crafts
suppliers of art and mixed media products and manufacturers of an exclusive range of wood and MDF shapes.

So ..... May's winner will receive a selection of these fabulous shapes, plus the DT will look at all the entries and choose a Top 3...... and the overall winner will have their work published in Craft Stamper magazine -  ooooh.  Not only that they will be offered a Guest Designer Spot on one of the future challenges!  Sounds like it's worth winning to me!

What do you have to do then ....... well check out the orignal post on the Craft Stamper Blog
then raid the vegetable rack and get creating!

For today's inspiration project, I took the easy way of making potato stamps ..... I used a cookie cutter.

There's so many great shapes of cookie cutters at the moment .... all you have to do is choose.
I went for the heart shape.
You need a nice large(ish) potato, cut it in half.  Take your cookie cutter, and push the sharp edge into the potato and press down evenly.
Carfully remove the excess potato from around the edge and take away the cookie cutter ..... now you're all ready to stamp away.

I've made little heart balloons ......

I stamped the hearts onto a piece of white cardstock, then using a paper mask cut into the shape of a cloud, I created the background around the hearts, using Stormy Sky Distress Ink, and added my sentiment ...... the stamp's from an old Stampin Up! set which I think is now retired.

I doodled some strings onto the balloons and added a touch of fine crystal glitter to highlight.

I had to add a balloon to the inside too ......

Well ..... are you feeling inspired to give 'potato stamping' a go?  If not ... and you need a few more ideas check out the blog, there's more inspirational pieces from the rest of the DT.  If the launch post was anything to go by, you're in for a real treat ...... there were some stunning pieces of art work on there all created from the good old potato.

You have until midnight on May 28th to get your entries in, and the winner will be announced on the Craft Stamper Blog on Friday May 30th.  Have fun .... and good luck!

Thanks for popping by today ...... have a lovely weekend.

Cheerio until next time
