Sunday 1 February 2015

Well .... I've started it!

Happy Sunday!

Pinch and a punch for the first of the month ...... White Rabbits and all that!  Welcome to February.

Tense was definitely the word to describe the football match last night .......we'll take the draw though.  City did play well but ...... we're still top of the league!!!

Remember a few blog posts ago........ I shared the beginnings of a journal with you.  I'd taken the plunge and decorated the cover and that was as far as I'd got.  Well ...... it's definitely going to be a work in progress.  The inside cover's done (inspired by the birthday card I made for Lauren).  I'm not quite sure where I'm going with all this .... there's no definite theme to it yet.  It's a case of just playing and seeing what I end up with!

I suppose I had to start with some of my favourite, go to colours ..... pinks, blues and lilacs.  And some of my favourite stamps would have to be in there too ...... Rose Blush from IndigoBlu, and that gorgeous face from the Tim Holtz  Classics #5 set

I coloured the background first using various colours of Distress ink, spritzed with a little water, to take some of the ink away, then stamped the gorgeous Rose Blush in the top and bottom corners, and embossed with clear powder.   A bit of masking was done before I stamped the face inbetween the flowers.

I then stamped the Rose Blush again, this time onto patterned paper and cut out the flowers.  I added a touch of Distress ink to the edges and overlayed the flowers onto the page.

I had a good old play with whatever was on my workdesk at the time ...... I came across a bubble stencil which I used IndigoBlu Snow White Metallic Paint through .... very pretty.

I found some butterflies stamped onto coloured card which I cut out and added.

Used one of the ink splat stamps from the SU Gorgeous Grunge set . And of course I had to have some words on there too ......

So ...... it's finally underway. There is another couple of pages done ..... but I'll show you those some other time.
If you take a close look at the ones above you'll see it's signed and I've put the date in there when I actually started it ....... it'll be interesting to see what the date is when I get to the end!

Thanks for popping by ........ enjoy the rest of your day.
I think we're off for a walk if the weather stays nice. The little man said he'would like to go walking with his wellies on, in one of the glens' .... sounds like a plan!

Cheerio until next time
