Something shiny ........

Happy 1st of October!

Where did the last month go ..... that's what I want to know!!!

You've probably noticed that the Christmas Countdown is back.  It might be be bit early for some of you I know ..... sorry ...... but hey! you're lucky it wasn't there in January!!
I'm also aware that it may not be running automatically for some of you .......  boy did that cause me problems last night (argghhh!!!)  Finally figured out that it wasn't the video, or my blog ..... it's all thanks to Chrome ..... my flippin'  web browser!!!! (Hubby figured it out actually ..... my tech support even works in the early hours after a night out!!!)
Chrome no longer automatically runs Adobe Flash videos!!!!  All this started back in September apparently ...... Google waging war against Adobe. They'd rather use HTML5  for videos (whatever that is) It's supposed to be faster and works with just about everything on a web browser without impacting on your battery life! Great!!!
So ...... that means if you have Chrome as your web browser (that would be me!!) you have to actually click on the countdown to see it run (a pain in the you know what!)
But ..... if you have Internet Explorer or Firefox then it should run perfectly ....... I tried it late last night, or rather hubby did once he'd figured out that it was my browser and not my blog that was the problem, and it works fine (arrgghhh!!!!! again)
Now I just have to see if I can change the countdown and get it to run automatically using Chrome, or ...... find another cool countdown ........ because it will drive me nuts as it is!
Hmmmm  .......  wonder if the web team at Poker Stars can help? Stephen .......

While we're on the subject of Christmas ....... on to the main reason for this post ....... I thought I'd go a little festive for this weeks Less is More challenge.
It's a Recipe Week and one of the ingredients has to be .....

Something Shiny

Still keeping things CAS, with lots of white space, I decided to go for the shiny, gold, embossed look

I've used an old Chocolate Baroque stamp ...... stamped with Versamark ink and heat embossed using a Gold powder ...... love the simplicity of this tree!

I added my sentiment underneath, in classic black..... one of the Mixed Christmas Sentiments from Happy Little Stampers

And finished off by adding a few dots of colour to the tree using a red glitter glue

A layer of black card underneath and jobs done!  A quick and easy stylish Christmas card.  Have you started yours yet?

Thanks for popping by ...... busy day today. I've got DT stuff to finish, blog posts to write and I need to get some serious sorting out done in the old craft room.  I decided to start changing my workspace around yesterday .... not the best idea I've had this week ..... especially when there's three projects on the go!!!!  Let's hope I can still find everything when I go back in there.

Cheerio until next time

Linda

I use Chrome, so it didn't come up automatically, but when I clicked on it I saw that there is only 84 days etc. Yikes!! Maybe I shouldn't click on it again ... ignorance is bliss (or so they say!). :)

Beautiful and elegant card Linda. Love your gold stylized tree with the red ornaments. So pretty! xx
