Oh Happy Day ........

Happy Tuesday .......

Well, the TT may be over but, we've got the football to watch now ..... yeah!
The European Championships are well underway ..... and as usual the England team have yet to make an impression.  It's early days though .... we've only played one game.  I did watch the Italy game last night ..... the Italians are looking good, but again it's early days.  Who's your money on ...... or do you not really care who wins?!!

I'm playing along with this months CAS Mix Up Challenge ......... I'm proud to say I was mentioned in their Outstanding Designs for last month .... whoo hoo!! so I had to join in the fun again.

I do like CAS ....... and I love a little bit of Mixed Media.  When you mix the two together you can get some really fun results.

I've used one of my favourite die cuts from Penny Black (one of the required elements), Off the Grid stamp for the background (the other required element) along with a bit of acetate smooshing (my + one other) oh ...... and there's a bit of embossing going on there too.

I stamped and embossed the grid work in the background using the SU stamp and them embossed it with Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder from Ranger.  Ih my! This is now my favourite embossing powder I think.   Thanks to the lovely Loll, who uses this lots ....  I had to add this little pot of gorgeousness to my stash ...... just look how shiny it looks

It's silver ,,,, but it's not, if you know what I mean.  I love it!!

I then did a little bit of acetate smooshing to add the colour to the background ....... Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn Distress inks

The die cut flowers were already on my workdesk, left over from a previous project.  I love this pretty Penny Black die ...... bashful, in fact the co-ordinating stamp (blush) is also one of my favourite, and well used stamps.
I gave the flowers a quick coat of  pearlescent paint ...... and then attached them onto the background using foam pads under the flower heads to add a bit of dimension .....

I finished off with a little sentiment ..... which I think is from an SU set

and I added a little something on the inside ....

Must dash ...... I need to get the curry started for tonight's dinner.  Then I'm off out to meet hubby from work.
Seeing as the sun is shining again .... it did take a while to come out today, we had rain first thing ...... Lauren thought it would be nice to sit outside at the Queens (on the prom) and have a glass of something chilled before dinner.  It'll only be the one though, there's football on again this evening. Mind you, it's probably on at the Queens so ...... dinner may be late!!

Thanks for popping by .... enjoy the rest of your day

Cheerio until next time

This is a fantastic design Linda. Love all the special touches you've added. That grid is amazing ... especially in liquid platinum ... yes, I use it ALL the time (my fav). And I have that same flower die ... because of you, but am ashamed to say I've had it for several months and not used it yet. Need to get on that! Love the soft green smooshing with the pale pink pearlescent flowers ... Gorgeous! Thanks so much for sharing with us at CAS Mix Up! xx
