Frosty the Snowman ......

Happy Sunday evening ......

I hope you've had a nice weekend .... it's been a lovely day here, the sun was shining and we had a nice family get together over a late Sunday lunch.

OK ..... I know .... it's only September ...... but, the Christmas Countdown had to make an appearance at some time. (Actually it never really went away ...... it's just been hiding at the bottom of my blog waiting, slowly counting down the days)
So .... as it's time to launch this month's  Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge ...... so the countdown begins .... Ho! Ho! Ho!  Don't worry it's not going to be all jingle bells and snowflakes from now on ...... but it is on it's way.  16 weeks and counting ..... just saying!

Anyway .... the theme for September's challenge is ........ a SONG

We'd like you to use a nice Christmas/festive song or a traditional Christmas carol as your inspiration for this month.  Here's a few ideas for you .......

White Christmas
Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer
Jingle Bells
Joy to the World
O Little Town of Bethlehem
Silent Night

..... you get the idea .... singing along are we?

You guessed it ..... I chose  Frosty the Snowman .....

A nice CAS design .... always good when we have a shed load of cards to make. He could even be one layer .... great for posting!

I stamped my little Frosty onto a piece of white cardstock, using Black Versafine ink, and also made a mask to cover him (before you ask I think he's an old Inkadinkadoo stamp ...... cute isn't he!)

With the mask in place, I stamped the words over the top using a grey ink (Frosty words stamp is by Magnolia)
I then cut an aperture in a piece of copier paper using one of my Nestabilities dies, large enough so the words would show through. With this in place, and Frosty still masked, I added some colour through the aperture  (Stormy Sky Distress ink) to create my little wintry scene.

I finished off  by adding a touch of colour to the snowman and some fine crystal glitter around the edge of the inked panel. Oh ,,,, and  a nice festive sentiment too (HLS Mixed Christmas Sentiments)

Inside I created another panel using the masks again, only this time with out the words in the background

I used the same Distress Ink and splashed water over the top to give the snowy sky look.

Is it time you got started on your Christmas cards .... or are you one of those people that have already done all theirs?

Thanks for popping by .... enjoy the rest of your day.
I'm off now to put my feet up and relax.  The table's cleared, the dishwasher's on and the house is quiet again.  Still not used to it being just hubby and I, but we'll get there.

Cheerio until next time

Linda, I love the way you used the lyrics to the song behind your snowman! And the line of glitter around them is perfect to set them off from the cardbase. Very cute snowman too!
