Good morning and Happy Wednesday ......
Guess what! ..... this years Twelve Tags of Christmas with Loll and Friends is underway..... whoo hoo!!!
This fun challenge, hosted by the lovely Loll Thompson (Stamping with Loll) launched on Monday and over the next few days Loll will be joined by some of her crafty friends creating gorgeous mixed media Christmas tags. This is the 4th year for this fabulous event and I'm excited, and honoured, to say that I'm one of those friends. I'll be joining Loll later in the challenge.
You all know I do like a good Blog challenge and ..... I love making tags so I can't resist playing along. I like to try and make the full 12 although this year I may be playing catch up a little more than usual as I'm away for a few days (sigh!!) but I will do my best.
Here's my first tag ........ the big man himself
Isn't he such a gorgeous Santa ...... he's simply been stamped on white cardstock with Black Versafine ink and then a touch of colour added using my ZIG markers and a touch of water
I used a punch to cut around his face and a die cut for the mount before attaching him to my tag.
I added a touch of sparkle here and there with some fine glitter, and coloured his spectacles with a Stardust gel pen .... what a jolly looking chap!
Luckily I had a nice piece of festive card in my leftovers box which I cut down for my tag ....... sparkly Christmas holly stenciled using texture paste and sprinkled with glitter
I finished off with a simple sentiment ..... heat embossed in gold
Do you Believe?
Well, that's tag number one done ....... I couldn't leave without making a start. Not sure when tag number two will get done though.
This time tomorrow hubby and I will be on the boat on our way to the UK. The sea looks gorgeous this morning ...... let's hope it's the same tomorrow. I've not finished packing yet. My craft stuff is all done .... just need some clothes now!
We have started thinking about Christmas finally ..... you could say we made a start on the festive shopping at the weekend ...... no shortage of Christmas spirit here!
It's mostly the result of a recent wine tasting ..... a few new wines in there along with restocks of a couple of regular buys ..... my favourite white wine, and one of our best loved reds
And look what else I found ..... ooops! a pretty pink gin.
I'm always on the lookout for a new gin, and apparently this one is infused with raspberries, along with other botanicals. And guess what ....... once the gin is done, the raspberries are used again, albeit they're slightly alcoholic at this stage ....... to make the Gin Jam! (they do a jar of Boozy Berries too but our wine cellar didn't have those in stock ...... maybe next time!)
Perfect for delicious scones and a largedollop of clotted cream .... I'll let you know what it's like!
Anyway .... enough about food and drink ..... I need to pack a suitcase, finish the ironing, tidy the house. Paint my nails, nip into town, go to the bank, schedule blog posts and pick up the little man from school ..... phew!! Busy day coming up .... think I'll start with a coffee!
Thanks for popping by ..... enjoy the rest of your day
Cheerio until next time

Yikes, girl, now I need a lie down just reading your list! And I need a drink and a scone with boozy jam!! What tag?! Oh, yes, wow, I do love your tag, Linda! It was gorgeous from a distance, but then to see the embossed holly and gold just took it to a whole other level of Christmassy coolness!! Have calm seas and a lovely trip!! Hugs, Darnell
Linda, that Santa is such a fabulous image! What a fantastic job you did coloring him and love the glitter paper in the background! Is that stamp from Stampendous? Just curious. And by the way, your Christmas shopping is WAY more fun than mine is!
Such a jolly Santa stamp and love the background and bling of your fabulous tag. Do not get me started on anther Gin!!!! Or maybe why not?!!!! Have a safe trip x
That Santa image is amazing. I love what you have done by adding just a touch of colour and sparkle. Your sparkly holly background is so pretty. Isn't great when we can raid our leftovers box and find something THIS PRETTY!! :) Beautiful tag Linda. Thanks for joining my tag event.
That table of spirits looks VERY inviting. :) Love the pink gin. Gin jam with scones and clotted cream ... yummy, great way to start the day! Have a wonderful, with calm seas, trip my friend!! xx
Outstanding!! I love your Santa. Would you please tell what company sells this stamp?
Sorry Mac ...... I'll let you know what I think once I've tried it xx
Thanks for your comments Nancy .... I believe that Stampendous have brought out the Santa stamp, I think it's part of a clear set. Mine is actually a wooden stamp from Rubber Stampede which I have had forever (not even sure if they still exist!) It's called Santa Collage xx
Great tag, love that Santa image and the background is gorgeous. Hope you have a fab trip
Hugs Kaz xx
Thank you for your comments Cheryl. My Santa is by Rubber Stampede and its called Santa Collage. I'm not sure this company is still around my stamp is quite old, however I think that Stampendous brought out a clear version a few years ago .... try ebay. Hope this helps xx
Wonderfully colored and framed Santa, Linda. Love your glittery stenciled holly background from your stash. Of course...I believe. Santa does not bring gifts unless you Believe! Have a smooth trip across the waters to the UK and fun little crafting trip. Hugs
That's one of my favourite Santa's, probably the first one I bought. A great tag. I like the sound of the Gin jam, could be a good start to the day.
Have a great time away.
Avril xx
Santa truly is lovely, just how I imagine him to look and the background you created for him is stunning.
Wow, you make me wish I could drink alcohol, that Pink Gin sounds wonderful... and the jam too. Hope you have a good trip! Hugs, Anne xx
I love how you've used this beautiful Santa, Linda! He's one of my NBUS purchases that I need to ink up. Thanks for the inspiration!
Love how you've gotten Santa's face punched with the circle...I have that image too! Great idea, and it looks just fab against the holly background of this pretty tag. TFS
Thanks, Linda. I will try to track it down now that I have a name and possible company!
Because of your help I found this stamp on eBay at a very reasonable price! Thanks so much.
