Happy Monday evening .....
And welcome to April!
I hope you've had a lovely Easter break. It's back to normal tomorrow ..... but hey! look on the bright side, there's only 4 days until the weekend!!
It's time to get this month's blog challenges underway. First one up for me is the Happy Little Stampers CAS challenge
As you can see the theme this month is ..... Chevrons
It had me stumped for a while this one, until I remembered the HLS Mix Mash stamp set .... there's chevrons on there ........
And I'm sorry but, I just had to use the brand new Perfectly Succulent set again too ..... I love this little cactus!
I stamped the chevrons in various shades of Distress Oxides, on one side of a piece of white cardstock
I stamped the sentiment (from the same set) on a snippet of white card, and cut the end to follow the shape of the chevrons before attaching it with foam pads.
The cactus was already on my desk ..... a little stamped leftover from the recent HLS Blog Hop. He just needed fussy cutting and colouring, which I did with my ZIG markers
I added a touch of Glossy Accents to the plant pot, which gives a little bit of nice texture, before adding him to the front of my card using a piece of folded acetate ...... one of my favourite things to do at the moment ...... along with the googly eyes!! So much fun ..... and, he actually does rock!
A few splatters of the Distress Oxide colours to add a bit more interest to the background, and I've also carried the design over to the inside of the card ......
I should use these chevrons more often, they look really cool! I think they make great mens cards too don't you.
As always there's a $20 gift certificate for the challenge winner to spend in the HLS store ..... and don't forget, if the winner has used HLS stamps on their design, then the prize is doubled!!
Happy stamping!!
Thanks for popping by .... enjoy what's left of the Easter break and have a great week ahead.
I hope the weather improves though. Talk about April Showers ........ it's been one long shower here all day. We even had a few flurries of snow in there too. Mind you ... even if the weather had been nice today, I wouldn't have been going anywhere. I only went and put my back out this morning .... making breakfast. What's all that about!!!!
I bent down suddenly to catch something and felt a slight twinge ...... turned to put a plate in the dishwasher, and that was it ....... OUCH!!
I can't sit, I can't stand, I can't even lie down for any length of time ...... it's going to be an interesting few days.
Cheerio until next time .......

Oh no Linda, ouch, I hope you are feeling a little better today, bad backs are horrible!! Love your card though, the chevrons would be perfect for a man card. I love the way you finish off your cards inside too!
Apart from the back, I hope you had a good weekend! Hugs, Anne xx
Super citrus colours on your trendy cactus card. And ouch! Nothing worse than back pain and so easy to do - perhaps it’s your body’s way of telling you to slow down after all your hard work moving house. Get well soon!
Oh Linda I feel for you, a friend of ours suffered the same thing last week. A trip to the physio on the cards?
The weather here was awful too but this little ray of sunshine certainly cheered me up. :)
Hope the bad back improves, there's nothing worse.
Love the fun card and that little cactus looks fab with the googly eyes.
Avril xx
And suddenly I felt as if it was summer, thanks to your card, Linda! The perfect CAS card. I love your flower pot, adding enamel has made her look like a miniature real pot. This card is amazing!
Hugs,
BozenA
Super card, Linda. Love that little guy with his googly eyes and the earthy/citrus tones are great, and so gender neutral too. Waiting for the postie to bring me this succulent set! xx
