The last CAS Stencil challenge of the year ......

Happy Monday evening .......

Welcome to the last CAS Stencil Challenge for 2019.
All the CAS DTs are taking a little break for December, but don't worry all you stencil fans, we'll be back in January 2020 with more fun challenges.

It's my pleasure to be hosting for November, and there's a real fun technique theme for you ...... Stencil Monoprinting

If you haven't tried this technique before please give it a go, it's so much fun to do.
It's a different way of using your stencils.  Instead of applying your inks or paints etc., THROUGH your stencil designs, apply them DIRECTLY ONTO your stencils.  Spritz with a little water and then use your inked up stencil to create fabulous monoprints.
You can even be lucky sometimes and get more than one good print, depends on your ink or paint, and how much water you've used.  Even you card can make a difference.
Try out a few different mediums and also different stencils.  The mylar ones are great, but the metal stencils work really well too.

I used a metal one for my inspiration piece, from Sweet Poppy Stencils. Top quality stainless steel, and gorgeous designs ..... this one is called Snowflake Baubles

I sprinkled the stencil with a tiny amount of Brusho (Turquoise & Ost. Blue) and then spritzed with quite a bit of water to activate the colours.

I then laid my stencil onto a piece of white cardstock, covered it with a piece of paper towel and gently smoothed over the design, applying a little pressure to make sure the colour underneath spread across the card.
You won't always get a perfect design, and no two prints will ever be the same but I quite like this, especially with these snowflakes .....

After removing the stencil, I blotted away any excess ink and left the design to dry.

A simple sentiment was all it needed to finish off ......

And I added some fine crystal glitter to each of the snowflakes to give a pretty festive sparkle.

The challenge is open until November 24th so there's lots of time to play along.

Check out the Challenge Blog for more fabulous inspiration from the rest of the Design Team, and also our lovely Guest Designer this month ....... Lucie (Lucie G Cards)

Happy stenciling!

Thanks for popping by ..... enjoy the rest of your day.

Cheerio until next time ......
