I hope you had a nice weekend .... we certainly did!
Hubby and I were back in lovely Bourton-on-the-Water ..... and it looks just as pretty in the winter as it does when the sun is shining in the summer. It's just not quite as busy though!
The Christmas tree was beautiful ..... stunning in the evening
And the whole village was full of fairy lights .....
We did have rain one day, but we managed to stay dry, in one of our favourite watering holes .....
We went out and about ...... Cheltenham, Ross on Wye and we also went over to Blenheim Palace to the Christmas Market, and to see the Christmas Lights Trail.
It was freezing cold that night, but the place was so beautiful, and the lights well ....... so pretty, and very festive. We wrapped up warm, and the delicious hot chocolate helped!
Here's just a few pictures .....
We had a lovely weekend ..... even though we did bump the hire car ..... ooops!!!!
Nothing too bad, thankfully. No one was hurt, except the cars. Hubby beat himself up for a while but, these things happen. That's what we have insurance for. We've been hiring cars on holiday for many years and this is the first time we've had a bump!! Let's hope it's the last.
We brought just a couple of things home with us ......
Cotswolds Gin .... of course. A Sipsmith's Sloe Gin, recommended by Lauren. To be drunk with Lemon Tonic (Fevertree) and a slice of orange ..... very festive! There's also a cute little bauble for the tree .....
And who could resist this little face ...... not me obviously!
He came home from Blenheim with me. I would have had a larger one but we only had hand luggage on the plane and it wouldn't have fit!!
He's hand made by a lovely sculptor named Tracy Whinray who we met at Blenheim. She's actually from Norfolk, and hubby said if we do the boat on the Broads again (which we are thinking of for next year) we can go and find her and I can have the large one ........ I love my hubby!
It's back to normal now, and full speed ahead with the Christmas preparation.
I'm making my cranberry sauce this week and also trying out a Jamie Oliver recipe for the all important gravy for the Christmas dinner ..... yum!
Thanks for popping by ..... enjoy the rest of your day.
I'm off to see Santa this evening with the little man ...... I hope I'm on the nice list!
Cheerio until next time .....
