Have you made a decision yet? .........

Happy Friday folks!

I can't believe it's weekend again already ...... where have the last 7 days gone?!!  I haven't even blogged!! ..... well not on here anyway.  Normal transmission will resume shortly ..... I hope!

I want to give you all a quick reminder about the latest Craft Stamper Take It Make It Challenge.  It's proving to be a bit of tough one I think this month ..... you've got to make a decision before you can get started.

The challenge is ....... choose ANY technique, by ANY of the fab Craft Stamper designers, from ANY of the 2014 issues of the magazine ..... simple eh!  Easy choice, or not?  You've got about 200 projects to choose from, and you have until midnight on Wednesday 27th August to get your entries in.

Our sponsor this month is Sarah Hurley

As well as scrapbooking supplies, stash and digital downloads, Sarah has a large, exclusive range of fabulous stamps three sets of which make up this months prize for the challenge winner

How cute are they!

PLUS ..... the winner also get their work published in the magazine, AND the chance to do a Guest Designer Spot on a future challenge ...... sounds worth winning to me!

So .... what's my favourite technique then?  Hmmm ..... it took me a while, there's soooo many to choose from.  Last week it was Bleach Blocking from the July issue, by the lovely Hels Sheridan, what a fun technique that is.

This week however I've gone for Embossing Powder Resist, showcased by Anna-Karin Evaldsson from the August issue (also last month's challenge theme)

I think this is a fab technique for making backgrounds.

I've used the Tim Holtz Papillon stamp set (CMS 106) to create my background panel. Stamped with Versamark and embossed with a fine detail white powder.
The colour has been added using Distress inks over the top ...... Worn Lipstick, Scattered Straw and Dried Marigold, a nice summery mix I think

I stamped the butterflies, using Onyx Black Versafine ink, onto a piece of white card stock coloured using the same Distress inks

The words are from Penny Black ..... I think it's called Moment of Joy.  They've been stamped in the corner of a square of white card and I added another of the butterflies from the TH stamp set

I mat and layered using black card stock and finished off with a little decoration on the inside

Now it's your turn ...... what technique are you going to choose?

If you still need a little help to make your mind up, hop over to the Craft Stamper Blog where you'll find lots more inspiration from the rest of the DT.

Ooh ..... Don't forget to tell us which technique you've chosen, the name of the designer that showcased it in the magazine, and which month's issue from 2014 your chosen technique is from.

Good luck!

Thanks for popping by ...... enjoy the rest of your day.

Have a great weekend ..... lets hope the sun keeps shining.
Cheerio until next time.

Can you 'Resist' a challenge?

Happy Friday folks!

Have you 'resisted' the current Craft Stamper Take It Make It Challenge?  There's still time to join in you know ...... as always there's a fab prize up for grabs ...... this month's sponsors are WOW! Embossing Powders

The winner of this month's challenge will receive a set of the latest, brand new Embossing Glitters in 6 fabulous mouthwatering colours and, not only that ...... the winner gets their work published in the best craft magazine on the market too!

I'm still living it up in Las Vegas ..... we've got a few more days left yet to enjoy the fun .... boy is it HOT!!!! over here though.  That'll teach me to come to the desert in July!

Not one to miss out on all the Take It Make It Challenge fun though,  I've got another inspiration piece for you today using the Embossing Resist technique

I've used the Stylised Flowers from IndigoBlu as my embossed image ...... stamped onto white cardstock using Versamark ink then embossed with a WOW Detail White embossing powder.

I then added my colours to the background using Distress inks ...... starting with the blue shades at the bottom and blending into the purple towards the top.  See how the embossing 'resists' the ink.  Once the colour has been applied to the background, to make the image pop that little bit more, polish over the top of the embossing just to remove any left over ink.

The moon was created by adding a punched paper circle onto the card before starting with the Distress inks

The sentiment is from Inkylicious, stamped with Black Versafine ink, across the top of the card.  And the silhouette grasses across the bottom are from an IndigoBlu set of stamps that make up part of the current Craft Stamper Subscription gift ...... stamped using Black versafine again, first and second generation stamping.

I must confess that the little butterfly was a last minute add on ...... a cover up!   You know the sort of thing I mean.  You've just about finished your design, you're really pleased with how it turned out then ..... from out of nowhere there's a black mark ...... a dirty great ink smudge, and there's nothing you can do to remove it .... argghhh!!!!

Butterfly to the rescue ..... I stamped the little guy onto the card (to cover the black mark) then stamped him again onto a separate piece of card, coloured with the Distress inks.  I cut him out and layered him over the top, raising one of the wings slightly to give a touch of dimension ......

Problem solved!  A great little cover up ..... saves doing the whole design from scratch again.

As always the design has been carried on inside the card ...... same colours of Distress, used the moon again and stamped the Stylised Flowers.

A bit of layering with some black cardstock and a touch of glitter to the flowers on the front is the finishing touch.

Now it's your turn.  You have until Wednesday 23rd July to get your entries in, and the winner will be announced on Friday 25th.  Can you 'resist'?  Good luck everyone.

Thanks for popping by ...... enjoy the rest of your day.

Cheerio from Vegas!
