How's your week been .........?

Happy Friday,

This is becoming a bit of a habit .... only one post a week.  Don't worry once things have settled down a bit and the holidays are over, things will change.  I WILL start posting more regularly! Hopefully I'll get that new follower too that takes me to 100.  Don't forget that when I do there's Blog Candy for one of you!

This week has just flown by, what with lots of DT stuff to do, ATC's to make for the monthly swap I'm part of, my regular DT Blog posts and of course Alex has been with us.  Things have been a little bit hectic around here.

Where do I start .......... I've been busy working away on samples for the next Indigo Blu shows on Create & Craft.  Kay's back on our screens on Sunday, the 19th, at 10am with a Rubber stamping show ....... that means lots of tips and techniques and of course ..... new stamps!  They're all fabulous.  Here's a couple of sneaky peeks ....

Then she's also back at 3pm with a special Wedding Show.  Loads of ideas on how to create matching wedding stationary using the fabulous Indigo Blu range .....
Considering I had a little helper in the craft room, things went reasonably smoothly, and all my samples were finished just in time - phew!
We even found time for a drive down to The Sound, and the Calf of Man.  This is one of the most picturesque places in the south of the Island, and the surrounding waters are full of wildlife.

We were lucky enough to see the seals this time, enjoying the waters and sunbathing on the rocks .....
splish! splash!

soaking up those rays .......

Somethimes you can even see dolphins and basking sharks down there too.
We've been down there when the weather's been bad and the sea gets quite lively.  Apparently there's been quite a few ships that have sunk around the Calf and the wrecks are now popular with divers.
We had quite a busy day ....... someone got to snooze in the car on the way home ......
it's alright for some!

We also had our usual walk in one of the many Glens on the Island.  This time we ventured into Molly Quirk's Glen in Onchan.
Legend has it that Molly was robbed and murdered in the glen, and her ghost can sometimes been seen in there.  Fortunately she wasn't around while we were down there ......
We did try to spot some fish though, and Alex tried his hand at 'pooh sticks' which he thought was fun.
He's back in the UK now, so it's all quiet again around here. I do miss my little helper though.

A quick reminder before I go, I've posted on the Creative Studios DT Blog today.  It's been busy on there this week, my new teamies have all been posting.  There's some fabulous projects on there from the girls, looks like they're settling in nicely.

Thanks for popping by.  Have a great weekend.  Mine's going to be a busy one.  I've got DT projects to do, blog posts to schedule, and I have to spend tomorrow SHOPPING!!! - oh joy!!   I need to go and buy holiday clothes ......... I'd rather be buying stamps and ink - I don't like shopping for summer clothes.  Wish me luck!

Cheerio for now

A Quick Reminder .......

Good morning,

I'm nice and early today (it's a scheduled post, that's why!).   I'm spending a crafty day with a friend, so I'm probably gathering up paper, card and craft tools as we speak.
We're going to be making bunting and decorating party bags and stuff, ready for her daughter's birthday bash - should be fun!   A little coffee and cake will no doubt be in there too at some point.

A big HELLO to my latest followers.  Thank you so much for taking the time to join me on my crafty journey.  I hope you enjoy reading the posts as much as I enjoy blogging them.  (Ooooh .... I'm getting nearer to the big 100.  Better sort out that Blog Candy I think!)

Just a little reminder that it's my day to post on the Indigo Blu DT Blog today.  I've still got my Floral hat on from weekend, I'm afraid.   You'll find some quick and simple cards on there today using just a few of the fabulous Floral stamps from the Indigo Blu range.  There's so many to choose from ........ where does a girl start?  You can tell Kay loves flowers.

Here's some sneaky peeks ........
one of my favourite IB stamps

flutterby butterfly
clean and simple

I'll be back again later in the week, hopefully with my Timmie Tag (that's if my Metallic Distress Paints have turned up).  And I've still got a Twinchie to do, and my DT project for Creative Studios ......... there's no rest for the wicked.  That box of new craft goodies is going to have to wait another day - sigh!!

Enjoy your Wednesday, thanks for popping by.

Cheerio for now

Sneak Peeks and Cheerio ....... I'm leaving the island again!

Hello there,

Only one more sleep then it's London baby!! - whoo hoo!!  I've been really busy this week trying to get everything done and out of the way and I think I've finally managed it.  I've even tidied the old craft room a little - well I need to make room for all the new goodies that will be coming home with me.  After all, the main reason for my latest trip across is The Big Stamp and Scrapbooking Show at Alexandra Palace.  I'm only taking hand luggage with me so I'm a bit limited as to what I can buy. (Just as well, as I'm not spending that much - yeah right!)  Stamps don't weigh much and I'm allowed 100ml bottles of liquids so the new Distress Paints are fine.  If I need to I'll leave my clothes with Susan (well, I'm back over there again in May - I won't need to pack anything then (ha! ha!))

This week has been spent doing DT stuff, some of which is going to be on display at Ally Pally.  And also Kay and Indigo Blu are back on the telly this weekend.  Sky Channel 671/Freeview 36/Freesat 813 Sunday 14th at 9am and 1pm, as part of the Create and Craft Birthday Celebrations.
Set your Sky boxes now, it's going to be a good show.  There's Flitter Glu and flake, Kroma Crackle and some favourite stamp sets.  The mannequins are also back in stock I believe too, so it's going to be a busy one.

Here's a sneaky peek at some of things for the show, that I'll be giving to Kay on Saturday ........

(ooh ...... just realised,  these won't be coming back in my suitcase.  More space for me to fill (hee hee!)

I also sent some Craftwork Cards goodies off at the beginning of the week .......
The lovely new Dolly Mixtures Collections - meet Coleen.  Everything is available on the CWC website, and you can see Coleen and the girls, in more detail on my last DT Blog post

Before I leave you to go and check my shopping list, and pack my suitcase, a quick reminer that it's my day to post on the Creative Studios DT Blog tomorrow.  Get this ........ the post is done!  and scheduled for 9.30am tomorrow morning.  Organised or what!  (I am trying).
Don't tell anyone, but here's a sneaky look at what's going to be on there .......  you'll have to pop over there on Friday to see it in full.

Well, that's craft stuff done and dusted.  I'm off to pack now.  Have a lovely weekend.  If any of you are going to Ally Pally have a great day, spend loads, and say Hello if you see me.
I suppose I should put some dinner on too.  Hubby will be home soon and no meal on the table.  There goes my Domestic Goddess points ... again!

Thanks for popping by.  Cheerio for now.

Look what I've been doing .......

Hello again,

Nothing for a week, then twice within a few hours ........... thank you to all my faithful followers for being so patient with me.  I have been busy though - I've just not had time to blog.  Not had time for much really.

It's all over now though, for a while!

I've been busy playing - oops! there I go again - I mean working with the latest designs from the fabulous Indigo Blu.
Did you all see Kay on C&C last weekend, LIVE from CHA? - how exciting was that!  If you did, then you'll have seen what I've spent the last few days with.

I know, I know, I'm sorry! I didn't give you the heads up.  Not doing my job properly there am I!!?!  Hopefully all you IB fans will have seen the show but, if you didn't, then worry not because Kay's on again this weekend - yeah!  Saturday (19th) at 11.00am (Sky channel 671, Freesat  813 and Freeview 36).  They'll have the same products, the new kits, the gorgeous new stamps plus loads of inspiration and new demos from Kay.  Don't miss it!

I must say that DT members Jo and Clare did a fab job in getting samples made for the show at CHA - well done girls, everything looked stunning!
The new stamps were only ready a few days before the show, I didn't have long enough to get anything done and back with Kay, in time to take to the US with her. (One of the disadvantages of living on this little island in the middle of the Irish Sea).
So, my box of goodies arrived last week and I've had a little less of a stressful time with them.
My samples have all gone off in the post this morning, with good old Royal Mail, in time for Saturday's show (I hope!)

Here's a sneaky peek at some of the things that are in the box ............

Tick Tock, Tick Tock .......

somewhere to save for your crafty stash .....
I did make a few cards too ......

All of the stamps, and the MDF items are on the Indigo Blu website, you'll find them in the Shop section under New Releases.  They'll  all be on the C&C show on Saturday, but if you just can't wait, and who can blame you, you can pre-order them from the website.

Well that's me done for today.   Thank you for popping by.  Hopefully it won't be as long before you hear from me again.

Enjoy the rest of your evening.

It's Showtime!

Happy Friday everyone,

We've actually got some sunshine on the island today, a nice change from all the wind and rain.  It was horrible last night, the waves weren't half crashing over onto Douglas prom.

Stephen's emergency trip to the dentist went well.  They managed to sort him out with a temporary fix for now, but he has a lot of treatment to go through in the next few weeks.  I won't bore you with the gorey details, lets just say I'm glad it's not me!!! (sorry love, you know I hate the dentist xx)

We had a lovely Thanksgiving celebration last night, ate far too much as usual.  But it was all soooo good, lots of turkey, sweet potatoes, and stuffing.  Followed by pumpkin pie, and pecan pie - yummee!
This year there were more Brits there than Americans too.

Onto things crafty.
DON'T FORGET Kay is back on our screens tomorrow (Saturday) with lots of fabulous new Indigo Blu stamps and some great new kits.
She's on at 12 noon for an hour long show, then she's back again at 5.00pm

Create and Craft  Sky Channel 671/Freeview 36/Freesat 813

If you can't watch live, please set your boxes to record, you won't want to miss it.

Here's a few sneaky peeks at some of the samples I've done using some of the new products ........

........ and one for the guys
a little bit of altered art
one for the girls .....

 There's cards too ....

And even a couple of tags .....

There's a bit of something for everyone.  Don't forget, Saturday 24th, Create & Craft at 12 noon and again at 5.00pm.  I'll be watching.

Thanks for popping by today, I really do appreciate it.
Have a lovely weekend, and I'll see you all again next week.

Bye for now

I've been playing with felt again.  If you want to see it in full, please pop over to the Design Team Blog

Just a sneak peek .....

Good afternoon and Happy Friday!

We survived our Ghost Tour on Halloween.  It was reeeeeally spooky, very cold, and VERY dark. We enjoyed it though.  Lots of ghost stories, and creeping around the castle by candlelight.
The Grey Lady even made an appearance at the end of the tour, along with the Lady in Black - whhooooo! (I don't think they were the real ghosts though!)   I want to do another one now.  Apparently they do a tour around the Gaiety Theatre in Douglas, that's next on my list.

I've had another busy old week, and it's not over yet!  There's still stuff on the 'To Do' List and it has to be done before I leave for the UK.  Guess where you'll find me this weekend!

I will be taking some time off though, remember Kay is back on our screens on Saturday - yeah!  Indigo Blu is on Create and Craft on November 3rd  6-7pm (I think).  Don't forget to tune in, there's going to be some fabulous stamps, and of course Flitter Glu and Flakes.  Kay will be doing her stuff demoing all the fab products and you'll get to see what all the DT have been up to.
My box went in the post yesterday morning.  Just hope that Mr Royal Mail does his job now and gets it there in time.

Shhhh ....... don't tell anyone, but here's a sneaky peak of a couple of things that went into the box

Full pictures will go on the Indigo Blu blog, probably sometime next week.

As it's Friday, it's my day to post on the Creative Studios DT Blog.
Here's a little tease of what I've created this week........
If you want to see it in full, you'll have to pop over to the DT blog.  There's all the details on there, what I've used etc., and there's some other fab projects from the rest of the Design Team too.

Well, that's another week over, doesn't time fly.  I'm off now to try and come up with something for this weeks Less is More Challenge.  I have a few hours left before the deadline.

Have a lovely weekend.  If any of you are celebrating Bonfire Night and are off to Firework Displays, stay safe and enjoy yourselves.

See you all soon

Rain, rain go away!

Hi folks,
Sorry I've been missing for a few days, too much to do and not enough time to do it in.  Nothing new there then!  My 'To Do' list wasn't getting any smaller so something had to take a back seat, unfortunately it was my blog (boo hoo!) and the housework (yeah!).   But, as of this morning I'm back on track, for a couple of days at least anyway.  That is after I've dried off!
I got soaked going into town this morning.  It was one of those necessary trips again - had to go to the Post Office, DT samples to send off, and birthday cards to post so there was no getting out of it.  It's done now though, everything is in the hands of the Royal Mail, all I can do is hope they arrive on time.

It's been a bit of a mad couple of days in the old craft room.  I've been playing with the brand new Indigo Blu Christmas stamps, if you can't wait until they air on the TV, you can see them here on their website.  They are rather gorgeous and they're available now.
Here's a couple of sneak peeks at some of what's been keeping me so busy .......
ooh ..... there's another new Indigo Blu product here too ..... any ideas what it is?

2 cards ...... same stamp ?
a little bit of acetate
I'm not sure of the dates and times of Kay's next shows on C&C, I think it's towards the end of the month.  Watch this space.

Well, it looks as if the sun is trying to get out now - typical!  We have blue skies again.  I've said before, IOM weather is certainly changeable.   It was like this yesterday too.  It bucketed down with rain in the afternoon, then just as I was making dinner last night this appeared .......
Sorry, it's not a brilliant picture, it was a case of grab the camera, point and click.  It was so much brighter in real life, and the second one, just to the left, was much clearer to see.  A perfect end to the day.

I'm off now to try and catch up with some Blog Challenges (time is running out again), and also to make a start on a very important birthday card for next week.  My grandson Alex is 2 next Friday (where has that time gone!) and he'd be shocked  if his card was late.
See you all again tomorrow.  Enjoy the rest of your Wednesday.

Just in time .........!!

Well, I made it! Indigo Blu samples - DONE!

Hi everyone,
I have some new followers again this week - yeah!  Welcome to my little part of Blogland, I'm so pleased to have you with me.
I've had a busy few days, but hopefully things will calm down a little now and I can catch my breath.
Things got a little bit frantic in the old craft room yesterday afternoon. The clock was ticking and nothing was going right.  It could have had something to do with the fact that I was working in a space about 6" square with stuff piling up around me, but, at approx. 5.45pm the last of the samples was finished - Phew!!    They're now all safe in a box, in the hands of the Royal Mail, on their way to Kay - I hope she likes them.

Here's a few little teasers ...........
oooh .... shiny!

not just Christmas ......

and .......  not just cards
Don't forget, Kay is back on Create and Craft on Saturday 11th August.  It's a 2 hour show and I think it's 11 till 1.00pm. It's Christmas again this time, with more stock of the stamps that sold out in July and, there's some lovely new designs to tempt you all into the festive spirit.

While I've been busy making these samples, Stephen's parents have been visiting us here on the island.  I haven't seen that much of them, but we did manage a couple of afternoons out.  We took the steam railway down to Port Erin - something Stephen and I have been meaning to do since we got here.  It was sooo cute, I don't think the train has changed much since it was built.
in the station at Douglas
It takes about an hour to do the 15 mile journey, from the old Victorian Station in Douglas through the Manx countryside, down to Port Erin and it is just like going back in time.  It's a really nice way to travel, if you're not in rush that is.

Sunday we went in the opposite direction, to the most northern part of the island - the Point of Ayre.  Apparently, it's the closest point on the Isle of Man to the British mainland, 16 miles south of Burrow Head in Scotland (according to Wikki).
There's not a lot up there except a couple of lighthouses, and a lot of stones.

The name Ayre comes form the Norse word Eyrr, which means gravel bank.  Because of the strong off-shore currents up there, there's an ever changing build up of shingle, which literally means that the beach changes shape with each tide.
The last time Stephen and I were in this neck of the woods, it was very windy and the waves weren't half crashing on the beach. Sunday was a little calmer.
this is know as the 'winkie', the smaller of the two lighthouses
And, just in case you lose all sense of direction ........
........ there's something to put you on the right track.

Finally, my husband knows how to treat a girl, dinner and a show.  We went to the opening night of 'Evita' at the Gaiety Theatre in Douglas.
It's only a small theatre but it was packed!  We had a box (oooh!), never done that before.  I loved it,  will certainly be doing that again.
I really enjoyed the show, I'd never seen it before, not even the film.  'Eva' was brilliant and so was the guy that played 'Che'.  We might even consider going again before it closes.

Well, that's me up to date I think.  Off now to catch up with some blog challenges.  I'll be back later in the week to share.

Ooh, just one more picture for you ....... a rare photo of my CLEAN desk.  Taken Tuesday night after I'd had a good clean and tidy and put everything away.
This didn't last long, unfortunately.  I'm already back to stuff everywhere.  Not even 24 hours.  Ah well, it's more fun when it's messy!

See you all later. Enjoy your evening.

Thanks for looking

Linda
