Red, White and Blue .......

Happy Monday!

How was your weekend?  It's not over yet for us in the Isle of Man ..... we've got a Bank Holiday today .... yeah!!
We're celebrating Tynwald Day ...... the islands National Day.

Usually celebrated on 5th July, but when that falls on a weekend, it's the following Monday. Unfortunately, this year, it's not going to look like the picture above ....... guess what .... no blue skies here I'm afraid ....... it's raining!!   Might just give the celebrations a miss I think, and spend some time in the old craft room.

I've got a busy week coming up .... hubby's BIG birthday on Friday ...... so I'm trying to get organised (hmmm!)  You should see the length of my To Do list ...... not much time for popping out for coffee this week!!

I'm not missing out on my blog challenges though.
This week's Less is More is all about ...... COLOUR

RED, WHITE and BLUE
to be exact

Here's what I came up with ......

I'm loving this new stamp set from Penny Black ...... it's a T for Transparent set called Enamor and it's so useful.

I've stamped the flowers using Versamark and embossed with a White, fine detail powder.  Using masking fluid I painted in the petals of each  bloom and left it to dry.

I swiped some Mermaid Lagoon Distress ink onto my craft sheet, spritzed with quite a bit of water and then brushed the colour over the top of the embossed flowers giving a watercolour effect

I then removed the masking fluid and coloured the flowers using Barn Door Distress ink, again mixed with a little water.

To finish off ...... a dot of liquid enamel for the centers, sprinkled with a touch of fine glitter, and I added a sentiment from the same stamp set

There's more on the inside too ......

Red, white and blue .... not a colour combination I tend to use ....... but I think I like it!

Thanks for popping by .... enjoy the rest of your day.

We're off on a quick trip to the north of the island today.  There's a brand new Deli opened this morning and you know what foodies we are here!

Cheerio until next time ....
