Time for a new challenge at Happy Little Stampers .....

Hello there,

Yes it's time to get your thinking caps on again for this months  CAS challenge over at Happy Little Stampers.

For November the challenge is all about Gilding ....... ooooh shiny!

What is gilding?  Well Google says .......

gild·ing
ˈɡildiNG/
noun
  1. the process of applying gold leaf or gold paint.
    • the material used in, or the surface produced by applying gold leaf or gold paint.

You could also use gold ink, or paint.  Gold embossing powder maybe, or shimmery mica powders to give that lovely shiny effect.
I've gone for gilding flakes on my inspiration piece ...... sorry about the picture quality, shiny things are not the easiest to photograph, especially when the light is rubbish too!!
But enough of the excuses ...... here it is

A nice CAS design, using my favourite bauble stamp ..... from IndigoBlu

I've inked up my stamp using IndigoBlu's Flitter Glu ...... a stamping adhesive designed for using with Gilding flakes.
I stamped the image three times onto a piece of black card and then covered the images with the gilding flakes.

When stamping with glue you need to work quickly.  Ink up your stamp with the glue ..... not too much ...... place the stamp straight down onto the card, press and lift ...... it's a glue so if you leave your stamp on the card too long it's going to stick!
Also ...... remember ..... wash your stamps straight away in cold water ..... this not only removes any excess adhesive from your stamp but it also helps to remove any stickiness from your fingers BEFORE you put them in the gilding flakes ...... always a good idea!
Don't worry about leaving your stamped image ..... Flitter Glu stays tacky for ages!!!

I used Chocolate Box Mega Flakes for my baubles ..... a gorgeous mix of golds and bronze with a hint of purple and chocolate brown .... just yummy!!

Rub over the flake with the palm of your hand to make sure that everything is covered, then polish off all the excess using a scoochy sponge and watch all the fine detail appear ...... magic!

I added a festive sentiment both inside and out, using the new HLS Everyday Sentiments and this time Chariot of Fire Mega Flakes .... a gorgeous rich gold .... love it!!

Now it's your turn ..... have fun with the Gilding theme, I can't wait to see all your designs.

We have a Guest Designer on the challenge this month .... the lovely Karen Mead is joining us (Made by Meadie) Pop over and say Hi and grab some more fabulous inspiration

The challenge is sponsored by the Happy Little Stampers Store

and this months winner will receive this gorgeous set of HLS stamps ...... I love these butterflies!

Good luck with the challenge!

Thanks for popping by ..... enjoy the rest of your day.

Cheerio until next time.

Sorry for the late visit, teamie, made it eventually!
That chocolate blend of flakes is just gorgeous, especially on black. Those bauble images are divine too. Mine was my first use of gilding flakes, you sound like a pro :) xx
