Fancy making a start on Christmas 2017? ......

Happy Wednesday ......

It is Wednesday ....... I think, I hope.  Getting back into the routine of things is proving a little difficult. That early morning alarm is not nice!

Sorry I'm late ..... we ended up going out for dinner with the kids and it took a little longer than expected.  Lovely meal though .... it's always nice to get everyone together.

I've been putting the Christmas decorations away today, so the house is looking a little bare. All the baubles are off the trees and back in their boxes ....... only one casualty too, which I think is a record for me!
All the fairy lights have been taken off ...... are you like me, I switch them on before I take them off the tree, just to check they're working OK.  Switched them on again once they were off the tree ..... they still worked. Carefully put them back into their boxes and switched them on again ..... and guess what, they were still working ....  whoo hoo!  Now all I have to do is hope they work when I get them out again!
Just the trees to go now ..... they can wait until tomorrow I think.

Speaking of the festive season ....... I know it may be a little early for some of you but, how do you fancy making an early start on this years cards?   Why not join in the fun with the Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge ..... yes, we keep the Christmas spirit going all year round!

This month it's easy ..... the theme is Anything Goes but, there is an optional twist ..... JOY!

I just couldn't resist using this little guy again before I put him away with the rest of the Christmas stash ...... I think he's perfect for this challenge.  It's Penny Black's Snowman Joy die ....... I just love him!

I started out by cutting a mask .....  just a piece of cheap copier paper cut across the centre to make the snowy hillside.  With the mask in place I stamped my Clarity trees across my card .... simple

I added a touch of glitter onto the trees and along the edge just to define the hillside.

I then die cut the snowman ...... once from white card and again from a piece of brown.  I gave the white one a spritz with some Perfect Pearl mist, and then layered the two together (cutting the arms off the white layer ..... don't worry, he didn't feel a thing!)

A little Distress Ink on his cheeks, coloured his nose with an orange marker and added some tiny gem buttons and he's all done.

The word die is from Stampin Up!, cut twice from white card and once from red glitter card, then all three layered together to give some dimension

I used the HLS Everyday Sentiments to finish off my Christmas greeting.

Well, that's one for the festive box done ....... I've made a start!  Now it's your turn.

As with all the HLS challenges, the Christmas one is sponsored by the Happy Little Stampers store .....

and the winner will receive a $15 discount voucher to spend in the shop.

Thanks for popping by ...... enjoy the rest of your day.
I'm off to catch the second half of the football .... my boys (Chelsea) are playing Tottenham this evening ....... BIG game!!!

Cheerio until next time .....

I can see why you love this jolly little snowman so much and he looks superb against the tree and snow scene you created. And all that switching on and off of Christmas lights - must take you forever to pack away!

What a cute scene Linda and the double layer of the cute snowman is such a great idea! Hope the packing away of Christmas is going well - I do agree that everywhere looks bare and a bit austere when the decs have gone! Happy New Year to you and yours!

I really enjoyed your post, Linda. It surely is hard getting up in the 5:00 hour again after a lovely break. This is the most joyful snowman I've encountered yet. He (feels like a he to me) exudes JOY. Love that red JOY to really make the whole thing pop. Just wonderful!
