Well my Christmas cards are finally done ....... written and posted ....... phew! I don't think I've ever been this late.
The last ones were very clean and simple, but I love them ....... in fact I am going to make some more of these for next year.
It's one of the designs from the Holiday Card Series 2019 from the very talented Kristina Werner. This one is Day 16 ...... an easy way to create a Christmas tree
I used watercolour card and my Altenew Watercolour Paints.
I made a template for my Christmas tree shape, and then used this as a guide to mask off the tree shape on the watercolour card with low tack masking tape.
Make sure the edges of the tape are stuck down properly so that the paint doesn't seep underneath, and you'll get a nice crisp edge.
I then used various shades of watercolour paints, brushed on in stripes, to colour the tree.
Once the paint was dry, I added some fine crystal glitter, a few sparkly gems here and there, and stamped a simple greeting underneath ...... done!
Here's a couple of different colour combinations ......
These were so simple to do, but very effective. Thanks Kristina!
Well, that's about it for my Christmas makes ..... the craft room is now closed!
It's time to head into the kitchen for all the last minute festive preparations ...... cranberry sauce, and make a start on the gravy tomorow I think. Then it's cookies to bake ready for Santa and apparently we're making a gingerbread house on Christmas Eve. Hmmm ...... we'll see how that turns out!!
Thanks for popping by .... enjoy the rest of your day.
Cheerio until next time .......

A wonderful way to finish off your Christmas cards, Linda! Love the stripes of color with the bit of glitter between them!
Been away for a short break so am playing catch up-
Brilliant cards - clever and very effective. Really will try this technique as they look great!
(Your card was waiting for me when I got home today - thank you - I love it. I was a little late in posting mine - took them with me intending to post them at the beginning of the week... note the word 'intending'..... remembered to get them into the box at the resort just as I was packing to come home this morning.....DOH)
wow - so "simple" yet so pretty ---
Your CAS designs are fab! LOVE these in all the different colour combos! You always take things up a notch, and where the crystla glitter makes the trees look extra festive. Great work! xx
